In this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Colby Kane. Aviator make clothing and accessories with style and function for the travel lifestyle. In 2006 Colby launched an American Heritage Collection for men that was made 100% in the USA. We sold to many of the top stores including: Fred Segal, Ron Herman, Kitson, Saks Fifth Avenue, Atrium, Amazon, and many more...
In 2013, Colby decided to change direction and launch, Aviator, a contemporary travel sportswear collection for people on the go. The plan was to make this change by launching my first piece in the collection via Kickstarter. In the summer of 2013, the Red Eye Hoodie Project ran a 30-day campaign on Kickstarter and raised $130,000 in pre-orders. In the last year, Colby has raised $250,000 on three successful campaigns all while building my direct to consumer business model.
